Apply for the UNICEF Junior Professional Officer Program (JPO). The JPO program is offered to entry-level (P-1 and P-2) young professionals to get hands-on experience in the field of international development and start a career with UNICEF. The Junior Professional Officers (JPOs) are fixed staff members of UNICEF for the duration of 2 to 3 years. After the completion of the assignment JPOs continue at UNICEF as regular staff members. The Position Level of the JPOs is comparable to International Professional (IP) staff.

Requirements of the UNICEF Junior Professional Officer Program (JPO)

  • JPOs are for fixed-term contracts for the duration of 2 to 3 years.
  • JPOs are entitled to International Professionals (IP).
  • JPOs are entitled to Compensation, benefits, and allowance.
  • An applicant can apply if he/she is a National of a donor country (a few countries sponsor nationals from developing countries). You can check the list of developing countries on Google.
  • An applicant should be under 32 years of age.
  • An applicant must have completed an advanced or undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum One year of work experience is required.
