[ad_1]

Studying in the hot summer weather when the temperature regularly crosses 40 degrees Celsius, is a real challenge. High temperatures can cause a lack of concentration, fatigue, and a sense of discomfort. In these types of weather conditions, one must have the right strategies to stay focused, and refreshing, and to maintain good productivity. Here’s a detailed guide on how to effectively study in hot weather.

Strategies to Study in Extremely Hot Weather

  • If possible, study in a room with air conditioning to keep the temperature down. If air conditioning is not available, use fans to circulate the air. Position the fan to create a cross-breeze by opening windows on opposite sides of the room.
  • Open windows early in the morning or late in the evening when the outside temperature is cooler to keep the temperature of rooms down.
  • Use blinds, curtains, or reflective window coverings to block out direct sunlight.
  • Keep a bottle of water with you at all times and sip regularly. Aim to drink at least 12 glasses of water a day, more if you are sweating a lot.
  • Reduce consumption of caffeinated drinks and alcohol as they can dehydrate you.
  • You have to make the strategy of studying early in the morning and late in the evening. Take breaks during the hottest part of the day (usually between 12 pm and 4 pm).
  • Take breaks during your study sessions like study for half an hour and then take a 5-minute break. It will help you to stay focused and will not tire you.
  • Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-colored clothing made from breathable fabrics like cotton or linen.
  • Take cool showers to lower your body temperature and use a damp cloth or cooling towel on your neck, wrists, and forehead.
  • Place ice packs or a bowl of ice in front of a fan to create a cooling breeze.
  • Try to eat salads, fruits, vegetables, and other light meals that are easy to digest. Avoid heavy, spicy, or fried foods which can increase your body temperature.
  • Eat small, frequent meals to maintain your energy levels.

Don’t push yourself too hard, listen to your body. Prioritize your well-being and adjust your study routine as needed.
