Junior Linux System Administrator
About this job
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS)
- Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions
- Perform system backups and disaster recovery procedures
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Linux technologies and best practices
- Collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure smooth system integration
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred)
- 1-3 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator
- In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems and distributions
- Proficiency in using the Linux command line interface (CLI)
- Strong understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) (a plus)
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) (a plus)
- Experience with system administration tools (e.g., systemd, SELinux) (a plus)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a tea
