Belgium Seasonal Work Permit Process 2023 (Procedure)

How does the Belgium seasonal work permit process work? Here you need to know the details assuming you have a Job offer from a Belgian employer.

1) Get a Single Permit

Your Employer in Belgium will apply for a “Single Permit” for residence and work in the region where you will work such as Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels Capital Region, or the German-speaking Community.

  • You will receive a decision to grant a single permit (annex 46) from the Immigration Office.
  • You receive a certificate to grant a single permit (annex 47) from the Immigration Office.

2) Visa D

A visa is a Long Stay Visa. The Belgium D Visa allows you to stay for longer than 90 days. Initially, this Visa allows to you stay for one year.

To Obtain a Belgium D Visa you have to submit your Single Permit, Passport, and visa application to the Embassy of Belgium, or VFS in your country.

3) Get a Residence Permit Card

Once you arrive in Belgium you need to register at the municipality of your place of residence within 8 working days. The municipality issues a single permit for a limited period of time (A-card).

Your Belgian employer will need to provide the following documents for authorization to work and stay for you:

  • The complete application for a work permit.
  • Employment Evidence.
  • Identity document of your employer
  • Employment Contract.
  • International Passport.
  • Proof of sufficient means of subsistence (if required)
  • Clean Criminal record.
  • Proof of health insurance
  • Proof of sufficient housing.
