Netherlands Residence Permit for Seasonal Work (2024)

The Netherlands seasonal worker visa is officially called a Residence Permit for Seasonal Work allows non-EU nationals to work in the Agriculture, or horticulture sector (e.g., fruit picking, flower cultivation, greenhouse work) for up to 24 weeks (6 Months). The Visa is fully sponsored by the Dutch Employer who must also arrange adequate Housing for you. We will guide you through the procedure of obtaining a Netherlands Residence Permit for Seasonal Work.

You do not need to apply for a Recognised Sponsor. It is you or the employer will apply for the Single Permit (GVVA). This is a permit that entitles the third-country national to stay and work in the Netherlands. After the approval of the GVVA permit, you will also apply for the MVV (Type D) stay visa. This can be done in two ways: your employer applies to the IND in the Netherlands or you apply to the Dutch representation.

Requirements of a Netherlands Residence Permit for Seasonal Work

• You must have a valid job offer.
• You have a valid passport or other travel document.
• After you arrive in the Netherlands, you must take a TB (tuberculosis) test
• You will be working as a seasonal laborer in agriculture or horticulture for no more than 24 weeks.
• You meet the income requirements.
• You have not been in the Netherlands illegally in the 3 years before your application.
• You will work for a Dutch company or organization.
• Your employer will pay the standard wage.
• Your employer arranges proper housing for you.

The Application Fee for a seasonal Residence Permit is 210 euros (in 2024).

Application Process to Submit Your Application

Step 1: What is MVV? A valid MVV (Type D Sticker) visa is needed. This will allow you to travel to the Netherlands and collect a residence permit from there.

Step 2: Collect Documents: Visit the website, select your nationality, and check out the list of documents needed.

Step 3: Employer will apply for the permit: Your employer will apply for the MVV and the single permit at the same time. Your employer must apply in writing by post.

Step 4: Apply for the MVV Sticker Visa to the Dutch representation.

Step 5: Pay the Visa Application Fee.

Step 6: Wait for the Decision. Most decisions are within a 90-days.

Step 7: You will receive a Decision.

Step 8: Collect MVV and Travel to the Netherlands: You can travel to the Netherlands with the MVV Sticker Visa. You can collect the visa from where you applied. Make the appointment at the Dutch Embassy and collect your Visa.

Step 8: Collect the Residence Permit when you come to the Netherlands.
