482 Visa Streams
When you apply for subclass visa 482, you have to select which stream is more suitable for you:
- Short-term stream: This Visa stream allows employers in Australia to hire foreign labor to address labor shortages. On this Visa, you can stay here for up to 2 years or 4 years. If eligible apply for permanent residence.
- Medium-term stream: On this Visa, you may apply for permanent residence. This Visa stream allows employers in Australia to hire foreign labor to address labor shortages. You can stay here for up to 4 years and later you can apply for a Residence permit.

482 Visa Requirements
To obtain and apply for the Australia 482 TSS Visa you are required to have:
- Have a job offer from Australia
- At least two years of experience in the position
- Genuine intention to work
- Qualifications that are relevant to the position
- Adequate arrangements for health insurance
- Meet health, character, and English requirements
- You will need to be under 45 if applying for a 482 Temporary Visa.
- For Short-Term Stream: Your employer employer nominated you for a position in the short-term skilled occupations list
- For Medium-Term Stream: Your employer employer nominated you for a position on either the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or the Regional Occupation List (ROL)
- For Labor Agreement Stream: Your employer has to have a labor agreement .
Processing Time
The Minimum Processing time for the Australian Work Visa is 9 Days and a maximum of 3 Months. But Generally, it takes:

Exemption from English Language Test
You are exempt from the language requirement if:
- You hold a passport from the United Kingdom, the US, Canada, New Zealand, and the Republic of Ireland.
- You have finished at least 5 years of full-time study in a secondary school where classes were held in English (you must provide details of the institution).
