Opening Position: Automation Technician
Purpose of Position:
The Automation Technician has a critical role in the execution of maintenance activities, modifications, repairs/replacements, and installations to minimize downtime and prevent machine breakdowns. S/he is responsible for executing preventative and corrective maintenance by detecting and diagnosing maintenance issues on machines/equipment, conducting services and performing immediate repairs on equipment. S/he is responsible for installing new (mechanical and electrical) equipment. The Automation Technician must ensure compliance with all HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) regulations and procedures to prevent risk of injures/hazards.
Key Accountabilities:
• Carries out routine safety checks/tests on machines/systems to ensure they are operating with highest safety standards.
• Ensures maintenance, modifications and installations activities are in compliance with DAL Food Standard Operating Protocols and Procedures (SOPP) , HSE, Quality protocols, and internal guidelines to prevent risk of injury and improve performance.
• Provides regular feedback/updates on any non-conformity to facilitate unit decision making.
• Suggests modifications in existing automation systems and provide recommendations on ways to improve machine efficiency.
• Maintains proper housekeeping standards in the workplace/workshop to ensure work premises are safe and orderly.
• Cooperates with team members and identifies best option in executing the job to avoid delays.
• Prepares timely reports, as may be required, on general system or equipment problems, replacement parts and equipment performance standards.
• Performs technical inspections and repairs of automation equipment and systems to ensure conformity with maintenance standards.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.
• Ensures safe running/commissioning of automation machinery/systems by applying HSE and GMP protocols.
• Performs emergency repairs and maintenance in response to emergency situations as required.
Qualifications:
• Education: Vocational.
• Experience: 0-1 Years.
