Oman Work Visa Process 2024 (Types of Permits)

It is a Multi-entry visa valid for staying in the country for 2 years.

2) Oman Employment Contracting Visa

This is a special visa for foreigners who need government approval before starting a specific job in Oman. It is a single-entry visa and is valid for a stay in the country for 2 months. It is renewable for one more month.

3) Oman Temporary Work Permit

This permit is granted for short-term projects or specific tasks, typically valid for a limited period. This type of permit is valid for the specified in the permit, 4 months, 6 months, or 9 months. Your visa will be valid according to your permit and it is a Multi-entry visa.

Oman Work Visa Requirements

  • The age of the applicant should not be less than 21 years.
  • Two photographs ( 6X4 ) cm.
  • Copy of Passport
  • An employment contract.
  • Nationals from India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Syria, and Nepal should attach an original copy of the medical certificate. The certificate is to be attested by the Ministry of Health.

How to Apply for the Oman Work Visa?

The application process is typically initiated by an employer in Oman who wishes to sponsor a foreign worker. The steps are given below.

  • Employer obtains a Labor License: The employer first needs to acquire a Labor License from the Ministry of Manpower.
  • Job Offer to the Employee: Once the Labor License is secured, the employer can send a job offer letter to the potential employee.
  • Employee Applies for Work Visa: With the job offer in hand, the employee can then apply for an employment visa through the Royal Oman Police’s online portal. The employer typically handles the application process on the employee’s behalf.
  • Issuance of Residence Card: Upon successful visa issuance, the employee can enter Oman and apply for a residence card within 30 days of arrival. This card allows them to legally reside and work in the country.
